State level sport and recreation organisations requiring additional assistance to develop and improve their business practices are able to access the Office for Recreation and Sport Business Improvement Process.

Business Improvement Process (BIP) utilises skills from within the ORS as well as experts from outside the industry, to concentrate on:

• Governance - implementation, training, awareness
• Finance - management, reporting
• Human resource management - processes, policy, training
• Industrial relations - compliance
• Marketing - planning, developing plans
• Strategic planning - developing and implementing business plans
• Risk management - developing and implementing processes
• Amalgamation - organisational structure and restructuring

BIP services are generally provided on application where the organisation seeks assistance designing and implementing the BIP initiative.

Funding to undertake BIP initiatives can be sought through the Statewide Enhancement Program (StEP).

BIP helps identify those areas of your organisation which require improvement and establishes an action plan listing issues to be addressed in priority order, aligned to realistic timelines.

The key to the success of this program is the emphasis on change management processes and continuous improvement.
